Aniela’s Parting Wish

Aniela regretted not getting vaccinated against COVID-19. If she had been vaccinated, she would most likely still be with us today. In the hospital, she expressed her wish that everyone get vaccinated – against COVID-19 and pneumonia. She didn’t want anyone to suffer like she or her family did during her hospital stay. Get vaccinated. Do it for yourself, your loved ones, and for Aniela.

Remembering Aniela

Our beloved mom, wife, sister, friend, neighbor, nurse, artist, lector…

Aniela (née Wiertelak) Kozanecka died at Tisch Hospital on February 10, 2022 after a long, brave battle with COVID-19 and resulting complications. She was 65.

Aniela was full of life. She was effervescent, kind, made friends easily, and had a way of making a lot out of a little – gesturing care, love, and attention through her cooking, hospitality, and crafts. She was enjoying a new freedom in her life after beating cancer in 2020.

***

She is survived by her husband, Piotr; her daughters, Kasia, Anna, and Maria; and her brothers, Roman and Marek.  They – and everyone who knew and loved her – will continue her legacy on earth. May her memory live in our hearts forever.
